scopeArchiv™ is a comprehensive, off-the-shelf solution for public and private archives. scopeArchiv™ is modular. It supports typical work processes, beginning with the pre-archive, transfer and processing of records, description and storage through to charge-out or research and ordering of archived material via the Internet or Intranet. scopeArchiv™ adapts to the specific structures of existing archives, while complying with international standards. scopeArchiv™ is available as a hosted solution in our computer center with a predefined set of modules.

As scopeArchiv™ is continually developped further, our software covers next to the analogue archiving also the digital long-term archiving since March 2010. For this, we provide the additional product suite scopeOAIS™ that allows the OAIS conform and ISO 20652 based transfer of digital data to the archive. What does this mean?

Today, more and more digital documents are generated that are stored only digitally as they are not needed in paper form anymore. This way of archiving needs special procedures to meet various legal and technical requirements. These files cannot be saved on a drive like normal text documents and then be liked to scopeArchiv™ as they have to be stored in a digital storage medium (called repository) according a special method. This repository is outside scopeArchiv™, but our software has access to this data and the records can be registered as any other file.

As this procedure is complex and standards (ISO 20652) have to be met, a OAIS-reference model has been developped to describe everything from the transfer of data from the producing side over to the (digital) archiving/storage up to the preparation of the files for consumers. With our new product suite scopeOAIS™ we are able to fulfill all demands. It includes the new module scopeIngest that allows to take over digital data from the producer and store it in a repository defined by you. At the same time, the data is registered in scopeArchiv™. The ingest of the data can be configured according customer needs. After the ingest, your employees can edit the files in scopeArchiv™ as usual.

Which advantage brings the digital long-term archiving with scopeOAIS™?

  • Digital records do not have to be stored in their physical form anymore

  • Employees which already know scopeArchiv™ do not have to learn a new software when using scopeOAIS™
